Acne Diet and how to get rid of Pimples

There have been countless studies performed into the various causes of acne, and in particular, how a person's diet affects their skin condition and the likelihood of them getting acne. Some studies have discovered that people are sensitive to certain foods.

Many people doubt the link between daily diet and the development of acne, but there is actually a link between an acne prevention diet and the reduction of acne since what we eat eventually manifests itself in our bodies.

There has been constant debate regarding the role of diet in causing acne. Studies have shown that persons sensitive to the hormone progesterone should avoid all diary products, because they can cause acne flare-up.

Having a poor diet - even natural acne treatment diet does not cause cystic acne, but a healthy diet is a good way to combat it. If you eat a healthy diet, your body will be better prepared to fight infections and heal itself easily.

Combination Products for Acne

Some acne medications, such as topical antibiotics, target the growth of P. acnes,

the bacteria that causes redness and inflammation.

Other acne medications, such as retinoids, are aimed at preventing pores from clogging.

In some cases it may be necessary for a patient to use multiple acne products to target the different causes of acne.

It can be quite a hassle to have to remember to use multiple acne medications in a day.

Some of Combination Products for Acne:

Benzoyl Peroxide(BPO) with an antibiotic
BPO is included in the ingredients of several over-the-counter and prescription acne preparations because of its ability to kill P. acnes.
Research has also shown that benzoyl peroxide enhances the effectiveness of some antibiotics such as clindamycin and erythromycin to penetrate the skin and reduce inflammation.
When used in combination with antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide reduces the risk of a patient developing resistance to the antibiotic.
Benzoyl Peroxide can cause skin irritation and possibly bleach your hair or fabrics that may come in contact with it. Some people may also have an allergic reaction to it.

New Combination

Another good example of an acne combination product is a new combination that provides the convenience of a once-a-day application and the complementary benefits of two active acne-fighting ingredients: Tretinoin a topical retinoid, and Clindamycin a topical antibiotic.

In addition to unclogging plugged pores and preventing new acne blemishes,
tretinoin clears the way for the topical antibiotic clindamycin to enter the pores where it can effectively fight P. acnes, reduce inflammation and continue the healing process.

Fortunately this combination will not stain or bleach. However, as with all retinoids and topical antibiotics, skin irritation, redness and sun sensitivity can be side effects.

Diagnosing Acne and avaliable treatments

Diagnosing acne

Acne is easily recognised by the appearance of the spots, and by their distribution on the body.
There are several varieties of acne and your doctor will be able to tell you which type you have after examining your skin.

Treating Acne

Acne may cause you considerable emotional distress but there is a range of treatment options to help you tackle the problem. No treatment will completely 'cure' your acne. The aims of treatment are to prevent new spots forming, to improve those already present, and to prevent scarring.

Home treatment
It is important to keep spot-prone areas clean, so wash the affected area twice a day with an unperfumed cleanser. The skin needs a certain amount of oil to maintain its natural condition, so avoid aggressive washing with strong soaps.

There are a number of over-the-counter remedies available from pharmacies to treat mild acne. These usually contain antibacterial agents such as benzoyl peroxide (eg Oxy and Clearasil Max).
As well as its antibacterial effects, benzoyl peroxide can dry out the skin and encourage it to shed the surface layer of dead skin. Together, these effects make it harder for pores to become blocked and for infection to develop.

Benzoyl peroxide can cause redness and peeling, especially to start with. This tends to settle down if you reduce the number of times you use it. You can then build up your use gradually.

Usually it will take time to clear acne with this approach.

But if You are detoxing your body and clearing your colon, that's could work wonders for your skin.

What are the symptoms of Acne?

What are the symptoms?

The first symptoms are small, tender, red spots that later turn into pimples containing degraded fatty acids.

The inflammation disappears over a few days or weeks, depending on the severity. Severe acne can cause scars which will never disappear.

Acne can also cause psychological stress and be socially disabling. An early effective treatment is therefore imperative.

What can make acne worse?

Working in a damp environment with oil, grease and other chemicals.
Stress or emotional tension.

Squeezing or picking at the pimples.
Menstrual periods.

Certain medicines and chemicals.
